Glossary

These are the terms SimStew uses internally — not a cross-league standard. Every league sets its own regulations and penalty structure; this page just explains what the words mean inside the app.

Clip
The video of an on-track incident submitted for review — from a YouTube or Instagram link, or a short direct upload.
Debate Card
A clip's shareable page: an editable headline, the embedded video, and a live verdict breakdown.
Debate Question
The editable headline on a Debate Card, framing what's actually being judged — separate from the clip's plain factual title.
Driver
A person tagged in an incident who may be found at fault. Being tagged does not require a SimStew account.
Verdict
The outcome of a vote on an incident: one of the tagged drivers at fault, Race Incident (no one at fault), or Inconclusive.
Consensus / Threshold
The share of votes one outcome needs before a verdict locks. A league's Race Director sets this (25/50/75/100%) — 75% by default.
Steward
A league member appointed to vote and comment on incidents. A steward's vote also counts toward a separate, steward-only league verdict, shown alongside the general community one.
Race Director
The person who owns and manages a league: appoints stewards, configures incident types and the voting threshold, and runs seasons and rounds.
Appeal
A request from a clip's submitter to reopen a locked verdict for a fresh vote.
Charter League
One of the first leagues running a full season on SimStew during its beta, with a direct line to the person building it — status, not a discount.
Charter Badge
Shown on a charter league's public page.
